What are the standards for installing dust-collection filter bags?

2026-06-12

The manufacturing of dust‑removal filter bags is of paramount importance. Unfortunately, some small and medium‑sized manufacturers resort to using low‑quality sewing thread as the primary material, coupled with substandard sewing machines and processing equipment, to pass off inferior products as high‑quality ones. As a result, the craftsmanship falls far short of industry standards, leading to premature issues such as fraying seams and tears after only a short period of use.

Dust‑removal filter bags with slightly smaller specifications can certainly be used; however, after capturing a substantial proportion of fine particulates, they will begin to shed dust after a period of operation. During use, it is essential to select filter bags that are appropriate for the specific operating temperature of the dust being handled. If the filter bag is exposed to temperatures exceeding its rated operating range, problems may arise.

This will shorten the service life of the filter bags, and in severe cases, they may burn out within a short period. Therefore, when selecting filter bags, it is essential to accurately estimate and calculate the inlet temperature of the dust collector and choose filter bags that are appropriately matched to this temperature. During the fabric‑selection process for dust‑collection filter bags, the choice of material significantly influences how well it handles the characteristics of the dust; in operation, it is also important to consider whether the dust contains acidic or alkaline substances, as well as other highly corrosive components.

When selecting a filter media, choose one that is well-suited to the characteristics of the dust being handled. Dust‑collection filter bags should be able to effectively capture particulates without compromising their service life. During equipment design, it is essential to increase the filtration air velocity; although users may not notice any immediate effects, this can significantly shorten the product’s operational lifespan and impose a substantial financial burden on customers.
