Possible reasons include excessively high filtration velocity, overly frequent cleaning cycles, excessively high compressed‑air blow‑down pressure, or a reduced dust‑holding capacity of the collected material.
Studies have shown that excessively high filtration velocities increase the dust carry‑out rate; overly high gas velocities can disrupt the initial dust layer and cause excessive wear as dust impacts the filter bags. Moreover, if the filter bags are cleaned too frequently under such conditions, their fabric may become loosened. All these factors can lead to emissions exceeding regulatory limits.
When setting the pulse‑cleaning cycle for a dust collector, it is preferable to choose a cycle duration that ensures stable operating pressure; the pulse‑cleaning interval should be long enough to prevent the initial dust layer from falling off, while keeping the cleaning duration as short as possible. If the initial dust layer is insufficient, the cleaning cycle can be extended to compensate. When differential‑pressure control is employed, the stability of the inlet and outlet pressure settings of the dust collector can be enhanced.
